Turners Falls RiverCulture Calendar
Things are blooming in downtown Turners Falls which means one thing; it is once again time for Arts and Blooms. This seasonal art walk, Arts and Blooms will be held Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th , starting at 10 a.m. Arts and Blooms is an open studio and downtown walking tour.
There are some familiar stops on the tour this weekend, Spencer Peterman's baskets and bowls are always a favorite stop. The Hallmark Museum of Contemporary Photography Galleries 85 and 52/56 will be showing some intriguing photos. Check out Great Lighting and see the optically-engineered designs of David Wiener.
The Deerfield Valley Art Association will feature member and local guest artists and crafters. The Great Falls Discovery Center and Museum store will be open and selling raffle tickets for a Kayak. The Brick House will feature local musicians and filmmakers.
Some new stops and artists have joined the walk, including B.W. Dolan Casework custom furniture and cabinetry. View drawings of his work and work in progress. Jay K's Liquors will host two artists, Mike Kostanski of Streams of Stone sells custom made New England stone benches and birdbaths. Indian River Jewelry by Pam Kostanski will be selling pins and pendants crafted from treasures found on the beach. Round Here Café will feature co-owner Nayana Glazier's acrylic paintings on canvas and an open mic night from 5-8 pm on Saturday..
There will also be plenty of places to find nourishment throughout the weekend. Round Here Café also serves breakfast and lunch. Enjoy some tasty treats at The Rendezvous where you can eat early-late and in-between. Turners Falls Pizza House is a local favorite for pizza and grinders. Ristorante DiPaolo will have an outdoor food cart serving lunch from 11 to 2. Finally, start your Sunday out with a Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Montague Business Association. They will be serving pancakes and sausage from 9 to noon on Sunday at St. Kazimerz.
