Pianist Doug Abrams, bassist Alec Derian and drummer Alex Snydman - the group known collectively as "The Evolution Trio" - will be performing music from their first CD of originals by Abrams titled "Looking Forward". The recording is the result of the serendipitous coming together of three individuals with strong musical personalities who are nonetheless united in their belief that the language of jazz demonstrates the idea that the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts. Abrams has performed with luminaries including jazz master James Moody and has played venues including Birdland in New York City, Fasching Jazz Club in Stockholm, and The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, where he participated in a student performance of Duke Ellington's Far East Suite while enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music.
