Greasy Cuffs Song Tour: Zak Kirwin, Jamie Matson and Sasha Pearl are on their bicycles, with guitars, ukes, toy xylophones and tambourines in tow, circling around New England playing their sweet music, unplugged. Regularly solo performers, they have joined together for this tour to form one collective band,Greasy Cuffs Song Tour, taking turns as lead. Their first show is in Hudson, NY. Then they are gearing up, getting their thighs tuned up to ride, and taking off for a three week tour to Albany, North Adams, Brattleboro, Montague, Northampton, Boston, Providence, and ending in Zak's stomping grounds, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This tour is to promote love of life, and how music can inspire a good work out. They will be sweatin it out old school, up hills, across bridges, and parking their bike's in your moms driveway while they take a shower.
Info on the Performers
Sasha Pearl: (aka U.S.S. Pearl)
From the Tivoli port of the Hudson river there she blows! The U.S.S. Pearl is a one lady band with sincerity and personality to spare. "folky" if you must, her simple instrumentation and heartfelt lyrics will wrap around your soul like a fine ribbon. With her musical compatriots she prepares for the Greasy Cuffs song tour - on the bike and on the bum. so let freedom ring! with saddle sores and grass stains for all! http://www.myspace.com/sashapearlo
Zak Kirwin: (aka Ten Years Old)
Ten Years Old is a one fool outfit from Cape Cod with a knack for wacked out jingles. Spending most of his time locked in a musty basement spewing weirdness onto cassettes, Ten Years Old ventures out into the unblinking sun for this tour to air out some of his favorite music marginalia! Pop songs and singalongs dredged from a forgotten tributary of the Great American River of Song http://www.myspace.com/10yearsold
Jamie Matson: (aka Be Vegas)
Jamie hails from Brooklyn. Her music has been called 'quirky' and 'fun', it is folk music with a twist, making odd noises and faces amongst her songs. She used to be the drummer for experimental rock band, Batter Recharger (www.myspace.com/batterrecharger) , but this time around she is doing folky uke songs. Influenced by Yoko Ono, Portuguese rap, church choirs and Moroccan chants. She is happy to be traveling around with her friends making music the old fashioned way. www.myspace.com/jjmatson
