Jamie Berger moved to San Francisco from New York in 1992 after finishing a masters degree in poetry. In Summer 2005 he moved back east again to Turners Falls, where he is pursuing an MFA in fiction at UMass Amherst and opening a brand new bar in town called the Rendezvous along with Chris Janke, Emily Brewster, Mark Wisnewski.
In the ‘90s, his two monologues “Knowing the Questions” and “Regrets Only” had extended runs in both San Francisco and New York. The San Francisco Bay Guardian dubbed him “the SF everyman of the ‘90s.” He never knew what that meant then; what, exactly, that makes him in the new millennium is a question he wrestles with daily. He was a longtime member of OnSite Dance Company. He also co-founded and edited Sportsgeekmagazine.com.
Mr. Berger, who really isn’t terribly fond of writing about himself in the third person, was born in 1964 and raised in Albany, NY. He got his BA from Columbia and his MA from City College of New York, if you're impressed by that sort of thing.
His writing has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, McSweeneys.net, The Sun Magazine, The Chicago Reader, Negative Capability, Columbia Magazine, Planet Magazine, The Wave, 7x7 Magazine, Gettingit.com, In Posse Review, Watchword, Devil in the Woods, West Coast Performer, et cetera. His essay “Peep Show,” is anthologized in Flesh for Fantasy: Producing and Consuming Exotic Dance. His first book, Bo’s Arts was published in June 2006 by Evil Twin Publications.

Tim de Christopher is a sculptor whose installations appear in public and private settings across the United States. Working primarily in stone and steel, his work is deeply rooted in the tradition of architectural stonework and sculpture. de Christopher, whose father was a designer and grandfather a stone mason from Italy, was trained at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture; The Cooper Union, School of Art; and through independent work and study in Italy. However, it was his experience as an architect, designer, and carver for the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City (1990-92) that proved to be a professional turning point. In the dynamic and creative environment geared to execute both the Cathedral’s carvings and outside commissions, de Christopher perfected technical skills while also investigating aesthetic interests. His work continues to reflect the centuries-old tradition of the architect, mason, and sculptor of stone while expanding the vocabulary and exploring new ways to re-dress traditional forms with contemporary sensibilities.

Nina Rossi
(artist formerly known as Nina Bander)
Turners Falls, MA 01376

Nina's work springs from her life. Her wide variety of experiences in the work-a-day world inform her sometimes complex, richly decorated style. She experiments in two and three dimensional structures in a wide array of materials. Living in Turners Falls since 1987 has inspired the themes of many of her pieces, which echo the history of this old mill town.

Turners Falls resident and photographic artist Paul Teeling has been working with his chosen medium for over 20 years in both professional and artistic contexts. Paul hails from
Paul Teeling’s fine art images are made with equipment that ranges from very low tech pinhole cameras to state of the art high-resolution digital. Currently he is working on a series of portraits using a 1925 field view camera, a Polaroid 20x24 camera, and medium format digital camera.
His great love has always been using Diana cameras; toy cameras from the 1960’s. He was introduced to them in college, and has refined his skill over the years.
Paul Teeling’s most recent body of work is entitled: A Flower Is A Lovesome Thing, a title, which is inspired by the Billy Strayhorn musical piece of the same name. These intensely colored and painterly photographs are lovely examples of how the artist uses this unique medium to create images that express the power and emotionally tenuous quality of love.
Images taken with both antique and modern medium.
