The Montague Square Dance is a community event which features local and regional musicians playing mostly Southern-style Old-Time stringband music, and callers from around New England who call both traditional Southern and traditional New England square dances.
“Reading the Rocky Book of the Past—Dinosaur Footprints in the Connecticut River Valley” focuses on the 19th-century discovery of dinosaur footprints in the Connecticut River Valley and the local people, especially Dexter Marsh and Edward Hitchcock, who played starring roles in the story.
“Slice of Humanity” at Nina’s Nook in Turners Falls presents the work of five artists capturing the human figure using paints, brushes, markers, pens and mixed media collage: Robert Bent, Suzanne Conway, Lauren Paradise, Jeff Wrench, and gallery owner/artist Nina Rossi.
