Crabapple Blossom Festival

May 1 – 16

 The tenth annual Turners Falls Crabapple Blossom Festival runs from May 1st –16th, 2013.  Many of the downtown streets and parks in Turners Falls are lined with flowering crabapple, cherry and apple trees.  Various events are scheduled to encourage people to celebrate spring, get outside, and enjoy the flowers and Turners Falls’ nature, culture, art, history and architecture.

Wed. 5/1- 10:15 a.m.  May Day Party at the Carnegie Library Story Time with Ruth

Wed. 5/1- 4 – 6 p.m. Celestial Café show opens at Nina’s Nook, 125A Ave. A, 834-8800

Thurs. 5/2- 5 – 7 p.m. Memorial Tree Replanting in Peskeompskut Park, 863-4804

Wed. 5/1- 2 – 6 p.m. Great Falls Farmers Market opens for the season, Ave. A at 2nd St. 

Sat. 5/4- 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Jurrasic Roadshow “Home Team” at Barton Cove, 659-3714

Sat. 5/4- 10:30 a.m. Mister G Bilingual Children’s Concert in Peskeompskut Park Will be held inside Carnegie Library if weather unpleasant

Tues. 5/7- 3:30 p.m.  Spring/Mother’s Day Card Making at Millers Falls Library

Sat. 5/11- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Used Book Sale at the Carnegie Library- $2 a bag for all items! 

Sat. 5/11- 10:30 a.m.  Frogs and Friends at the Carnegie Library with Dawn Marvin Ward

Sat. 5/11- 10:30 – 12 a.m. Watershed Investigators: Bird Songs and Homes at Great Falls Discovery Center, 863-3221

Sat. 5/11- 9 a.m.  5 p.m.  Turners Falls Fishway opens for the season and will be open Wed. – Sun. from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., through Sun., 6/16, 659-3714.

Thurs. 5/16- 6 – 8 p.m. Artist Reception for Celestial Café’s Emily Goodwin at Nina’s Nook 

For individuals wishing to enjoy exploring downtown Turners Falls at their own pace, the Historic Downtown Walking Tour, Geological Walking Tour and Downtown Attractions & Outdoor Recreation guides will be available at the Carnegie Library, Great Falls Discovery Center, and the Town Hall. 

The Turners Falls Crabapple Blossom Festival is organized by the Montague Public Libraries and is sponsored by RiverCulture with support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council
